A business has donated £2,500 to the Woodlands Cancer Centre extension appeal instead of buying Christmas gifts and cards for customers. Huntingdon based Riello Ltd, which has been making gas, oil and dual fuel burners for morethan 90 years, had ring fenced the money to buy presents. However, it decided to donate the money to a charity and choose Hinchingbrooke’s Woodlands appeal, which is fundraising for a £2.4million state-of-theart cancer centre at the hospital. Riello’s finance director John Newman said: “I am delighted to present this donation on behalf of Riello Limited.
We hope that this will inspire other local businesses to do the same and help make the new Woodlands Centre a reality.” Lynda Hall, Hinchingbrooke’s lead cancer nurse and Woodlands manager said: “We would like to thank Riello for their extremely generous donation to our appeal. “It is heartwarming to see local companies taking an interest, and supporting a project which will benefit so many local people who experience cancer.”
