The developer and operator of the Goole Fields Wind Farm in East Riding of Yorkshire, has expressed its delight at scooping a prestigious best practice award demonstrating its excellent collaboration.

 

Commenting after picking up the highly commended award for the “New Engineering Contract (NEC) Large Project of the Year, 2015” on April 21st, RWE Innogy UK’ Head of Onshore Projects Andy Brown said it is testimony to the sheer hard work and exceptional co-operation of all parties involved. Principle contractors included Farrans Construction Ltd, Balfour Beatty Engineering Services and Senvion.

“We were delighted to be shortlisted and it really is a tremendous pleasure to be presented with this award for the construction of Goole Fields Wind Farm” said Andy Brown.

Goole Fields Wind Farm is a 16 turbine renewable energy scheme. It delivers up to 32.8 MW of green energy making a significant contribution to reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

“As with any project, risks were present but at all times the project team managed to work through the risks, either individually or together, such that the risks did not turn into issues.”

Goole Fields Wind Farm represents a £44 million investment for East Riding of Yorkshire and can generate enough clean electricity to meet the average annual needs of approximately 18,200* average UK homes.
